“The decisions we make today frame the choices we face tomorrow. I design for the futures we want to live in—where integrity scales, collaboration thrives, and dignity is the default.” — Lubna Dajani
Lubna Dajani is widely recognized as a prescient Futurist and OG of the digital era; an award-winning systems thinker, strategist, and nature-inspired designer whose contributions have shaped the trajectory of global technology and policy for over two decades. Known for bridging deeply technical domains with humanistic design and diplomacy, she has consistently been ahead of the curve, from mobile identity and post-quantum security to AI ethics, spatial web governance, and regenerative economic systems.
As the founder of The Allternet and the Allternet Living Labs Alliance (ALLA), Lubna leads a worldwide initiative creating hyperlocal, self-sustaining hubs for inclusive innovation. Her regenerative design model—built on the principle of “Compete to Complete”—integrates trusted technology, collaborative education, and culturally rooted well-being metrics.
A strategic advisor to governments, startups, and multinationals alike, she has helped build ecosystems and unlock markets for companies such as Microsoft, Nokia, GE, ARM, and Hansol Secure. As Founding Secretary of the Open Trust Protocol Alliance (which became IETF’s TEEP), and a founding member of the CTIA Wireless Internet Caucus, Lubna played a critical role in embedding trust into the mobile internet’s core infrastructure.
She currently serves in leadership and governance roles across multiple standards bodies and impact networks:
Vice Chair, IEEE SSIT Education Committee
Chair, IEEE Systems Council (Long Island Section)
Co-Chair, Catalyst Now USA (Catalyst 2030)
Co-Chair, DIF IoT SIG
W3C Invited Expert (Privacy)
Advisory Board, H2020 NGI Trust (EU Commission)
She is a named contributor to pivotal IEEE standards, including:
IEEE 7010 (AI & Human Well-being)
IEEE 7014 (Ethics of Emulated Empathy)
IEEE 2895 (Trading of Human-Generated Data)
IEEE 7800, 7016, 2863, and 7700 (Climate, XR, Organizational AI Governance, Neurotech)
A seasoned public speaker, symposia host, and moderator, Lubna has headlined events from Catalyzing Change Week, IEEE ISTAS, SMC, and GHTC to MyCustomer.com, where she has explored urgent themes like digital soul commodification, burnout in the age of AI, and regenerative policy shifts.
Her thought leadership has been cited in over 20 peer-reviewed and industry publications, and her design work has influenced global conversations on inclusive AI, ethical data governance, and future city design. Her impact also spans the arts, music innovation, and educational equity, with previous appointments as a Visiting Scholar at NYU Music Design Lab, and advisor to Music Tech Fest, AEC Hackathon, and We Love Reading.
A mother, breast cancer, and domestic violence "thriver", Lubna is a champion for women's health, neurodivergence awareness, and intergenerational learning. Her lived experience deeply informs her commitment to human-centric design and ethical systemic change.
Lubna Dajani is not just a changemaker—she’s a systems shaper. A “parallel thinker” and “generous connector,” she is often described as “the person you want in the room when the future is being written.”
